How to make 3D printed wedding place names

2 July 2026 · 5 min read

Printed place names look elegant on the table and double as a small favour guests can take home. Here’s how to design a set and print a whole guest list without the last-minute panic.

An elegant, legible look

Place names suit a flowing script — keep each to a single first name so it stays clear at table height. A slim standing base keeps the focus on the lettering, so you can skip a heavy backing for a more refined look.

A consistent set

Pick one colour scheme and reuse it across every card so the whole table matches. Keep the font and size identical from guest to guest, and the set reads as a considered part of the styling rather than an afterthought.

  • One first name per card keeps things legible and elegant.
  • A slim base stands the card up without a heavy backing.
  • Batch several onto the bed at once — they are small and quick.

For a long guest list, bulk generate creates a card for every name in one go (Pro) rather than editing each by hand.

Printing a full guest list

Start well ahead of the day and print in batches. Place names are small, so several fit on the bed together; PLA prints them cleanly with no supports. Print a spare handful for last-minute additions.

Step by step

  1. 1
    Choose the Desk mode

Each card stands on a slim printed base.

  2. 2
Type a guest’s first name in a flowing script

One name per card keeps it elegant and readable.

  3. 3
Set one colour scheme for the whole table

Reuse the same font, size and colours across every card.

  4. 4
    Batch several onto the bed

Check they fit your printer, then print them together to save time.

  5. 5
Export and repeat for every guest

Export an STL and print in PLA, or bulk-generate the full guest list at once.
