What the lightbox export contains
The model is split into a hollow body, a front frame, a light-diffusing panel, a face mask and an optional rear cover. The front frame has a 3 mm locating skirt that pushes into the body, while the wider bezel stops against the front edge. An internal ledge stops the rear cover from sliding too far into the shell.
Choose Desk or Wall mode
Lightbox construction is available in Desk and Wall modes on Pro. Desk mode can use the printed base if you want a counter light, but the base remains optional. Wall mode puts the chosen mounting recesses into the removable rear cover.
Use bold lettering
Each raised text or shape layer becomes an illuminated opening. Bold lettering leaves enough material around the cut-outs and gives the diffuser a clear shape to light. Use auto-fit for a long name, then check that every opening stays inside the front panel.
The illuminated text colour controls the diffuser preview. For the physical print, use white or natural translucent filament and let the LED colour provide the light.
Set the body and panel fit
Body depth controls the space available for LEDs and wiring. Panel fit clearance starts at 0.15 mm per side, but printers and filaments vary. Print a small fit test or a shortened section before committing to a large sign, then adjust the clearance if the panels bind or feel loose.
Inspect the assembly before exporting
Move the Assembly view slider towards Exploded to separate the rear cover, body, light face and front panel in the preview. This changes only the view. The export still places the loose front parts flat beside the body for slicing.
Plan the LEDs and cable route
Choose the rounded bottom channel for a visible cable running down the wall, or a rear-cover exit for concealed wiring through the mounting surface. The bottom channel lets you lay the cable in before fitting the cover, then makes it turn upwards inside to block direct light. Set the opening size to suit the real cable before printing.
The Pro production tools can add a continuous LED strip mounting shelf joined to the enclosure wall, a measured controller holder, captive wire clips and a rear opening for a USB-C socket or switch. The holder, clips and rear cut-out require the removable rear cover. Measure the real hardware before printing because component bodies and panel cut-outs vary.
The production pack includes three diffuser test coupons around the selected thickness and a bill of materials based on the generated LED route, voltage and power per metre. Test the coupons with the intended LEDs before committing to the full face.
